This week is pretty straight forward:
- Make two reference sheets for your whole team to post up. One large reference sheet for the show you chose, and one large reference sheet for the live action movie you chose. (I'm sure you guys will all make large ass reference sheets of the characters you'll each draw, but we don't need you to post that here hahaha. Just show us a general large collection of reference from the show and movie easy stuff.)
- Each team member is required to do 6 pgs of style studies MINIMUM. If you want to do more that's cool too!On each page we'd like at least 15+ sketches. Remember you're not designing characters yet. You're just copying art and character drawings from the show as practice. (A good way to practice is to maybe turn on the show you've chosen on the side and just watch it and sketch at the same time. Take some cool screenshots and have fun! It's much more exciting than just looking up reference pics to copy.)
- You are welcome to draw traditionally or digitally for this assignment. We don't mind but if you're doing traditional be sure to scan it and clean them up ok? Rough sketches are fine, we mean like no glare no sketchbook corners sticking out etc etc.
- Please add your names to to each pg. For your first two pgs, all of your teammate's names would be there. The individual sketch pgs, just your names alone. (This seems like a lot for ref pgs and sketch pgs granted, but presentation is really important no matter what project. This is just to prepare you guys!)
- Have fun! Have you met your new teammates? Maybe watch the shows with some team members if you have free time, draw together, get to know each other! Hong and I can give you valuable advice and information, but so can your fellow teammates in the future. Teamwork is important in the industry!
